In order to achieve the goals of the Paris Accord, schools must engage the teachers to receive guidance and cooperation. On January 11, the leadership team of the Schools Under 2°C Challenge presented to the teachers of Tesla STEM an in-depth presentation stating that climate change is a human rights issue that can be easily addressed with simple behavioral changes. That being said, the STEM pledge was to voluntarily meet the Paris Climate Change Accord by the end of 2017 by recycling more, starting an composting program, reducing electrical use in classes (with lights and heating), and promoting more efficient ways of transportation. The leadership team received a positive response from the teachers, staff and principle for their work. Those teachers interested will follow up by signing a pledge to actively participate reducing their classroom's electricity use. The Schools Under 2°C Challenge is ready for action with support from students, and most importantly, the staff.
